These Images Show The Vital Roles That Women Played During WWII
Women played a vital role during World War II and were instrumental in the war effort. They were called upon to work in ways previously reserved only for men. There were more than six million women that took wartime jobs in factories, over 200,000 served in the military, and three million volunteered with the red cross. However, when the war ended, many women wanted to keep their jobs, but as the men returned from war, they were forced out of the workforce and sent back home to be housewives.
